About us

Body Works Physical Therapy is a small outpatient clinic nestled in the heart of Johnson City, NY. We are a caring, creative, and professional team whose main goal is to make our patients' lives better by getting them back to their lives through the use of aquatic and physical therapy. We strongly encourage self care by teaching our patients how to manage their pain and gain control of their lives. We introduce other self-healing modalities such as yoga, meditation, sound healing and breathwork.

Responsibilities:

• Perform initial evaluations assessing patient's strengths and limitation, review medical history, identify contraindications for treatment, and create a plan of care for aquatic and/or physical therapy to meet the patient's goals.
• Follow patient's progress from start to finish and progress their exercises during treatment sessions and also with home exercises.
• Perform re-evaluations progressing the patient forward with a treatment plan and discharge patient when goals are met.
• Maintain accurate records of daily treatments, progress reports, and discharge reports using WebPT software.
• Establish and maintain rapport with patients, their families, and the Bodyworks staff. Provide patient and family education as needed.
• Create fitness and wellness-oriented programs tailored to patient's specific needs
• Motivate patients during treatment sessions to help empower them into self care
• Consult with other healthcare practitioners
• Supervise PTAs, cosign notes, educate and train PTAs on new treatment techniques when needed.
• Finalize daily notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries and bill insurance companies accordingly.
• Assist with general daily household cleanliness of clinic and pool.
