PHOTOJOURNALIST
The Buffalo News, in Buffalo, N.Y., is looking for an energetic, talented and experienced photojournalist with exceptional photo and video skills to join our award-winning team of photographers. This person must have a passion for visual storytelling and be comfortable covering breaking news, sports, features and long-term enterprise work.
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate the expertise and desire to create compelling, informative, emotional and intimate visual stories. You must be willing to innovate and collaborate, demonstrating impeccable news judgment and the technical skills to consistently create images that go beyond the expected.
Here's what you need:
• Ability to manage complex breaking news situations under intense deadline and logistical pressure.
• Exceptional core photojournalism skills (photography and videography, reporting, caption writing and journalistic ethics).
• At least 5 years of daily newspaper experience.
• An understanding of social media and how to respond and engage on digital platforms.
• Professional knowledge of Photoshop, Photo Mechanic, Premiere and other photo and video editing software.
• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends.
