Duties and Responsibilities
Seeking Research Associate to manage mouse colonies, assist with ongoing experiments, and maintain the laboratory. Previous experience in mouse breeding and laboratory management strongly preferred, but not required. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively and independently are essential. Organizational skills and attention to detail are a must.
Mouse colony management responsibilities include: setting up breeding pairs, genotyping, and keeping detailed breeding colony records.
Lab management responsibilities include: making common lab reagents, ordering supplies, booking rooms, maintaining orderly records, and ensuring a safe working environment and compliance with safety regulations.
Additionally, the Research Associate will assist the Principal Investigator (PI), research staff and students with projects by carrying out standard assays, with the potential for co-authorships on publications.
Campbell Lab
· Supports research projects by performing straightforward lab assays and analysis. Carry out experiments as instructed by Principal Investigator (PI). Assists PI, research staff, and students with various lab procedures and projects.
· Carries out literature searches and analyses as instructed by Principle Investigator (PI) during assay development. Generates reports on these analyses.
· Organizes, curates and updates data bases of the acquired information and the corresponding analyses.
· Maintains orderly records.
· Maintains a safe and orderly working environment.
· Ensures compliance with safety regulations.
· Performs other duties as assigned by the PI and lab manager, including ordering of lab supplies and reagents
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Minimum Education: Required: Bachelors Degree Preferred: Masters Degree Specify Degree(s): Biological or physical sciences Minimum Experience: Required: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience Preferred: 3-5 years of previous job-related experience
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field and two years of related experience or more.

Basic computer skills and willingness to learn software programs used in the research lab.
