Job Summary:
The Mechanic installs, troubleshoots, repairs and moves heavy pieces of machinery. Typical tasks include disassembling equipment to locate the issue and then reassembling. The Mechanic also tests and calibrates machinery to ensure it is operating at maximum efficiency.
The Mechanic needs to have extensive experience and training on multiple pieces of machinery specific to the manufacturing environment. They must be able to work quickly and efficiently with the utmost attention to safety regulations. These professionals need to have great manual dexterity to work with small parts and tools.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Inspects, maintains, and repairs industrial equipment and machinery to ensure they’re always in proper working order.
- Examines moving parts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis for signs of excessive wear, defects and damage.
- Orders or request orders to be placed to replenish materials and parts when inventory grows low or is depleted.
- Studies manufacturer manuals and blueprints and carefully follows directions when operating or setting up newly acquired or existing machinery.
- Troubleshoots and maintains engines, conveyors, electrical systems, CNC machinery, pneumatic tools, and hydraulic equipment.
- Identifies faulty equipment through observation and testing metrics.
- Sources replacement parts and perform repairs.
- Works with Production Plant Engineer to continually update the production process and system software.
- Attends daily shift meetings to prioritize work orders and minimize downtime.
- Safely operates cranes, power tools, hoists, and hand tools.
- Maintains parts and tools inventory.
- Prepares maintenance reports and summary presentations using daily activity logs, analysis, and trends.
- Maintains electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical knowledge via on-going training, industry workshops and technical reading.

Education and Experience:
- Vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience, required.
- 10 years’ experience working in an industrial environment.
Physical Requirements:
In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Amendments, the following have been identified as physical requirements of the job:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
- Must be able to visually inspect machines.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- This position works on the production floor in a fast-paced environment.
- This position is exposed to dirt and dust, moderate noise levels and, on occasion, slippery floors (due to spills) or obstacles on the floor (due to the movement of products and supplies).
- This position is regularly required to work around moving material-handling and moving equipment.
- This position will be regularly exposed to hot and cold environments when working in the plant.
- The position is required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on or around machinery.
Compensation and Benefits
- Full-Time Hourly (Non - Exempt) position starting at $40.00/hour. Pay will be commensurate with experience.
