Job Description Summary
Responsible for providing evident and energetic advocacy, troubleshooting, and customer service for faculty, staff, students, and the general public within a wide range of functions encompassing operational supervision of credit and continuing education classes, student services, facilities management, safety, and security. Mentor, advise, instruct, and counsel students and faculty in college policies and procedures. Provide total administrative support for faculty, including classrooms, office space, facilities operations, keys, parking, audiovisual equipment, copiers, and supplies. Responsible for providing basic student services functions in the areas of admissions, placement testing, new student orientation, registration, financial aid application, educational and career advisement and transfer advisement, as well as student leadership development, and cocurricular programming and coordinating efforts at the University Town Center location.

Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office-related equipment, such as but not limited to a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. No significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.

Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associates degree required.
- Four years of full or part-time experience in higher education, ideally with experience in both the instructional and student services areas.
- Bachelors preferred
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds.
- Well versed in instructional technology and can assess and accurately describe issues with the technology.
- Familiar with institutional academic policies and procedures and have the ability to explain and interpret those policies and procedures to both employees and students

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Assists students with completion of admissions applications
- Administers student evaluations of faculty and maintain completion records
- Assist Director and Assistant Director in daily operations to increase student success Attends meetings and training sessions
- Communicates repair and maintenance requests
- Coordinate with the System Engineering (IT staff) to include training for the operation of audiovisual, computer, and copier equipment for students and faculty
- Covers duties and maintain a high standard of student and faculty services in the absence of staff
- Maintains a congenial working relationship with Atlantic Parking; manages employee parking procedures and updates materials; assigns faculty parking garage key cards and hangtags
- Maintains a congenial working relationship with the University Town Center building management
- Maintains familiarity with admissions, advising, registration, and payment processes to ensure the delivery of these services to students
- Manages and coordinates the center facilities and security, including opening and closing classrooms, computer labs, and securing lobby areas.
- Proofs and verifies semester room assignments and assigns classrooms, computer labs, and smart classroom rooms.
- Provides basic information on mental health, wellness, and other help and services available to students through the College and community Provides basic information on requirements for transferring to senior-level institutions in the area and appropriately refers students to resources with additional transfer information
- Provides basic information on the initial intake interviews for Disability Support Services
- Provides basic information to students on the financial aid application process, financial aid programs, including scholarship opportunities, and refers to financial assistance specialists as needed
- Provides customer service to individuals seeking information on credit and noncredit courses
- Provides essential information to students on the placement testing process and how to access test scores and additional resources
- Provides pre-admission advisement as well as basic academic and career advisement services for new or continuing students and students transferring from another college on programs of study, including admissions requirements, course selection, and course requirements Reports faculty absences; documents incident to supervisor; takes roll; conveys faculty class instructions to students in absence of the faculty
- Troubleshoots daily problems; coordinate emergency responses; reports incidents and accidents; and recommends changes
- Updates information for the University Town Center website
- Work closely with all departments to ensure the effective delivery of courses and services.
- Organizes and presents group presentations to students, staff, faculty, and the community
- Collaborates with UTC staff to create and share newsletters for students, faculty, and staff
- Maintain congenial relationships with evening staff to determine needs
- Assist Director and Assistant Director with planning, coordination, and implementation of certification and degree programs as well as student support services or related work
