Job Description Summary
Responsible for coordinating the review of transfer credits and compliance with state transfer credit regulations. Primary resource for transfer credit policies for students, staff, faculty, external institutions, and the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC).
Two applicants will be hired from this posting.

Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. No significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.

Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required
- Minimum of Associates degree or higher required.
- Two to three years of experience evaluating transfer credit and/or reviewing and ensuring compliance with higher education policies is required. (Additional training and experience cannot take the place of the minimum qualifications)
- Ability to interpret and apply higher education regulations
- Ability to work well under strict deadlines and tight time constraints; strong proofreading skills and detail orientation
- High comfort level with computer and word processing programs, especially Word and Excel
- Good research skills; strong organizational skills
- Ability to communicate well orally and in writing
- Good customer service skills
- High level of flexibility
- Demonstrated ability to apply policies and regulations to complete work tasks
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of admissions, registration, curriculum and graduation related matters is important.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Manages institutional compliance with Maryland's Transfer with Success Act, including staying informed of changes and trends amongst Maryland peers.
- Develops efficient business processes that address all aspects of transfer credit reporting and notifications
- Acts as the primary point of contact for students seeking to transfer courses and credits to PGCC
- Evaluates credit for transfer in accordance with state and College policies and sends transfer credit summaries to incoming students, to include explanations for credits accepted, credits denied, and application of credits to the degree program in the timeframe required by MHEC
- Coordinates the sending of transfer credit denials to the sending institution and schedules meetings with the sending institution to review denials
- Communicates final review determinations of credit denials to students after the sending institution's analysis and meeting
- Tracks all credit denials and compiles them into a report for annual reporting to MHEC
- Ensures that all policies, rules, procedures, and course equivalencies are documented and publicly available
- Collaborates with Transfer Evaluators and Catalog Editor to maintain course equivalencies in the Quottly transfer evaluation system
- Works closely with the Office of Transfer Services, Office of Recruitment and Admissions, the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost, and department chairs in formulation of transfer credit policies and procedures, articulation agreements, and the student transfer process
- Other duties as assigned

- Must be able to work Monday thru Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm or 10:00 am – 6:00 pm.
- Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
- As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
- A background investigation will be conducted prior to the offer of employment. A signed authorization for the release of personal information will be required if selected for an interview.
