The Emporium Signature Spa (formerly Massage Emporium) has been in business in downtown/mid city Baton Rouge for over 18 years. We pride ourselves on results driven spa experience with excellence in customer service and highly skilled and professional Licensed Massage Therapists. Licensed Massage Therapist Job Description

Massage therapists treat clients by using touch to manipulate the muscles and other soft tissues of the body. With their touch, therapists relieve pain, help heal injuries, improve circulation, relieve stress, increase relaxation, and aid in the general wellness of clients. Massage therapists talk with clients about what they hope to achieve through massage. They may suggest personalized treatment plans for their clients, including information about additional relaxation techniques to practice between sessions. Below is a list of some of the main duties you will perform. This is not a complete list, but a representation of the importance your role plays in the success of the spa.

Massage therapists duties include the following:

Be on time for all scheduled shifts, as mandated in the manual.

Greet your clients in a timely manner, asking for them by name and introducing yourself to the client

Consult with clients about their symptoms, medical history, and desired results

Communicate effectively with clients to make sure expectations are clear and addressed

Evaluate clients to locate painful or tense areas of the body

Manipulate muscles and other soft tissues of the body

Provide clients with guidance on stretching, strengthening, overall relaxation, and how to improve their posture

Document clients' conditions and progress through S.O.A.P. notes

Recommend additional services/add-ons and retail items which would be of benefit to clients

Recommend a wellness plan/schedule for your clients to form a relationship and ensure future visits

Inform the front desk of any changes or additions to your client's visit

Walk your client to the desk upon their exit to prompt future scheduling and issue business card or recommendation sheets

Other duties include

Assisting in laundry duties as these items are necessary for you to perform your job

Following cleaning guidelines to ensure work areas are sanitary for guests and other therapists

Attending required company-wide or job-specific meetings when mandatory

Licensed in the State of Louisiana, or provisional license would be considered. Available for weekends.
