Community Specialist
Department: A.D.A.P.T/P.A.C./Respite
Hours: Full-Time - hours will vary.
Description of Position: Ensure Participant Assistance and Care (PAC) and Respite departments remain in compliance with all State regulatory agencies and meet the needs of the adults enrolled. Develop and encourage programs and activities for individuals we serve to participate within their community, this could be individually or in groups. Maintain, support, engage, and connect current and new community organizations with adults we serve. Provide daily support of Community Trainers, PAC DSPs, Respite DSPs, program participants and families as needed. Attend admissions, annual, and quarterly meetings, review budgets, create and train staff on individuals served. Create a system for record keeping and scheduling. SANDATA/Payroll approvals for Community Trainers, PAC and Respite DSPs.
Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent some college preferred.
Experience Required: Previous experience working directly with participants with disabilities. Previous management experience. Previous data entry experience, knowledge of computers and ability to learn other software programs.

Additional Information: Community Specialist will be responsible for managing and calculating service hours based on individuals service authorization (budgets). Community Specialist will be responsible for creating staff schedules and calendars of events/outings. Day Service community outings need to be interactive and educational. The focus of Respite and PAC will be to enhance the development and growth of each program. Must have a valid driver’s license with no suspensions for traffic infractions during the past three years and be at least 21 years of age. Must clear TradeWinds background checks.
