Patron and Rental Services Manager

The Department of Theatre Arts in the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences is seeking a Patron and Rental Services Manager.

The Patron and Rental Services Manager ensures an excellent patron experience. The incumbent will train, schedule, and oversee box office and front-of-house services provided by student workers and credit-earning ushers for events held in the Foster Memorial Building and Cathedral of Learning Theatres. Responsible for managing ticketing program, financial reporting, and student semester passes with strong skills in communication, planning, and customer service. This position coordinates with facilities management to ensure that public spaces and performance venues are ready for guests and creates a safe, inclusive environment for student workers, volunteers, and guests. Department averages 40-50 performances internally per year.

The Patron and Rental Services Manager will serve as the facilitator for all venue-only theatre leases in conjunction with the production director and technical staff, leading external venue leases from inquiry, through contracting, and entrance/exit walk throughs. The department currently averages 10-15 leases for use of three spaces, ranging from single day events to multi-week productions. Incumbent will also collaborate with technical staff and production director for equipment lend and lease agreements with local professional theatre companies.


Job Summary

Supports all of the activities, scheduling, operations, financial management, marketing, and programming of a University performing arts center.


Essential Functions

This position is primarily sedentary, however does require some degree of standing for extended periods and the use of computers and other electronic devices. Will require some weekend and evening work.


Physical Effort

May require lifting objects up to 20-25 pounds, including packages and deliveries to the department.
