Senior Faculty Actions Coordinator



The Senior Faculty Actions Coordinator provides high-quality, executive-level administrative oversight and training for staff throughout the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences who are engaged in faculty action processes.

The incumbent is responsible for staff training, process development, and oversight of all faculty actions that originate within Dietrich School academic departments, including but not limited to, faculty recruitment, leaves, tenure-stream and tenured promotions, reappointments, terminations, retirement agreements, and part-time instructor contracts. Likewise, personally provides similar support to individual departments. The individual serves as a leader and liaison to various offices across the University including the Dietrich School Dean’s Office, central staff teams such as payroll and graduate studies, academic departments and programs, and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion for compliance with the university policy and procedures on all faculty initiatives.

The incumbent is responsible for working with other Dietrich School staff to develop and implement processes related to faculty actions and instructing departmental staff of deadline and process updates. The individual is responsible for requesting University systems access for new staff and providing contact information for other University related units. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Ability to maintain confidentiality is a must with no exceptions.

A successful candidate must be detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to work independently. The candidate also needs to be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.


Job Summary

Oversees day-to-day management of all academic support operations. Develops procedures for optimal operational efficiency and accuracy.


Essential Functions

The successful candidate will use a computer extensively. They must be capable of oral, written, and electronic communications. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. In addition to a computer, they must be able to use a telephone and other general office equipment including but not limited to fax machines, photocopiers, scanners, printers, etc.


Physical Effort

This position is generally sedentary within an office setting, but the ability to travel around campus is occasionally necessary. Also, must be able to pick-up and carry 25 pounds.
