The Department of Institutional Effectiveness is hiring a full-time administrative assistant to support the Associate Vice Provost (AVP) and staff members in the department, as directed. Work will include time-sensitive and confidential materials. Duties will include creating, updating, and submitting correspondence for review, website administration, document management, as well as managing administrative duties of the unit to include scheduling, purchasing and travel processing. This position will serve as the primary point of contact for the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, greeting visitors and answering phone calls and emails in a professional and timely manner.
Qualifications :
Duties include coordinating meetings for these groups to include communications, room reservations, catering, equipment, taking notes or minutes, and maintaining associated resources and files.
- Academic Program Review, preparing and circulating notes
- Academic Assessment Council, preparing and circulating minutes
- Assessment Day, providing support as needed
- Assessment Steering Committee, preparing and circulating minutes
- Department meetings and retreat, preparing and circulating notes
§ High school and 4 years administrative experience OR Associate’s degree in communications, information sciences, higher education administration, English, or related disciplines and 2 years administrative experience
§ Experience working in higher education
§ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
§ Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
§ Ability to learn about SACSCOC Principles of Accreditation, policies, and guidelines
§ Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
§ Ability to learn the institution’s purchasing and travel systems
Preferred:
§ Bachelor’s degree in communications, information sciences, higher education administration, English, or related disciplines.
§ 5 years working in higher education
§ 2 years in administrative support role
