Job Summary

Develops, organizes, and implements various activities for the Geology & Geophysics Department including but not limited to web, social media marketing, student recruitment, campus outreach, and development activities, as well as acting as the Geology liaison to other campus wide Departments and the College of Science as needed. Coordinate with students, faculty and staff for these events as well as various tasks related to the overall Departmental day to day functions and mission.

Responsibilities

Including but not limited to the following:
  1. Coordinate digital and print materials both inter departmental and external, including flyers, social media posts, campaigns, emails, etc. for events and activities.
  2. Manages the Department website and social media and ensures that the look and feel of software complies with institutional branding. Identifies and implements website improvements and content. Ensures that terminology, look, and feel of software and website are consistent for users.
  3. Support for Accounting and Administrative staff on various duties on a weekly or monthly basis as determined by staff and work load.
  4. Originate, coordinate and manage on campus recruitment activities in behalf of the Department including campus tabling and other events. Liaison with College level marketing and recruitment personnel on internal and external campus events and marketing.
  5. Coordinate and manage relationships with Departmental alumni and partners through contact and events and activities. Liaison with College level development and alumni personnel on internal and external events.
  6. Interface and with faculty and students and facilitate volunteerism, community outreach needs, student group needs, departmental events, etc.. as needed.
  7. May supervise subordinate staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field plus two years of related experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.
