Job Summary

Performs various cleaning tasks to provide all staff, and visitors a safe and clean environment by maintaining standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and free from hazards. Prepares meeting spaces for daily events, which may include planning, set-up, and take down as needed. May be responsible for unloading equipment or supplies.

Responsibilities
  • Sweeps, cleans, mops, scrubs, and dusts floors.
  • Cleans toilets and basins, and scrubs walls; dusts, cleans, and vacuums furniture, fixtures doors, and related furnishings using appropriate cleaning supplies.
  • Operates and maintains electric floor machines, industrial vacuums, carpet shampooing equipment, and upholstery/shampooing equipment.
  • Cleans, refinishes, and maintains a variety of floor coverings.
  • Transports custodial supplies and equipment to and from storage and work areas.
  • Transports trash and refuse, removes empty boxes, and organizes closets.
  • Helps with event setups and teardowns by placing chairs, tables, and other equipment throughout the Union Building.
  • Other duties as assigned.
