Position Description:
The Department of Physiology & Biophysics is actively recruiting to work in Dr. Tseng's lab to assist with the following:
Position Responsibilities:
Isolate adult rat ventricular myocytes.
Maintain adult rat ventricular myocyts primary culture.
Extract proteins from myocytes.
Perform Western blot experiments and analysis on extracted proteins.
Assist PI in analysis of image data using ImageJ or custom MatLab scripts
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, or biomedical engineering.
Prior lab research experience.
Ability to learn new experimental techniques listed under ‘job duties'.
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as an hourly employee at VCU
This is a restricted position with no set end date and continued employment is dependent upon project need, availability of funding, and performance.
