CEWD Registration Specialist

Wor-Wic Community College is accepting applications for a registration specialist. This position supports the registration, payment, student accounts and student records functions of the continuing education and workforce development division. This position may be required to periodically work overtime to meet departmental deadlines.

Essential Duties

The following list is not intended as, nor should it be construed as, exhaustive of all responsibilities, skills or working conditions associated with this position.

  • Processes and troubleshoots transactions in Elevate, Colleague and other databases, including sponsorships, scholarships and grant aid; refunds; waivers for employees, dependents and disability requests; contract billing; and working with the business office as a liaison to student accounts
  • Creates and maintains student records and accounts in Elevate, Colleague and other databases, including generating student transcripts on demand; performing record merges between databases; troubleshooting problems with student accounts, including working with IT to research older systems for student course verification and CEWD software Elevate/Colleague issues; and communicating with IT to provide CEWD student access to Blackboard
  • Monitors the CEWD drop for non-payment process, including maintaining a schedule of course drop dates; communicating with students via phone, email and text; and working with the business office to ensure students pay before the deadline and/or are dropped for non-payment
  • Serves as backup for the front desk, including reception duties and assisting with student registration
  • Interfaces with businesses and community organizations about sponsorship processes and concerns and troubleshoots as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate degree in a relevant field
  • Two years of relevant experience
  • Strong computer, organizational and human relations skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Preference will be given to candidates with at least two years of specialized training in accounting

Therefore, the method we use to calculate the successful candidate's starting pay is based on the candidate's formal education and relevant work experience and how that relates to the education and work experience of our current employees in the same pay grade. The starting salary for these positions will likely not exceed $26.00 per hour, but will be no less than $21.43.

  1. Mon. - Fri., 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (1 hour lunch)
  2. This position may be required to periodically work overtime to meet departmental deadlines
